PRIVACY NOTICE

Televisa Foundation INC. (hereinafter "Foundation"), with its registered office at 7801 SW 52 Court, Miami, Florida 33143, is committed to protecting the personal information provided by the participants of Technolochicas (hereinafter "Personal Data") who decide to participate and register (hereinafter "Participants") on the website Technolochicas.org/codeit (hereinafter the "Site" or "Website") and/or on the social media platforms related to the Technolochicas program, including Google Forms . The foundation is the data controller for the processing of personal data under the terms of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (“FERPA”) at 20 U.S.C. § 1232g (34 CFR Part 99); the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”) at 15 U.S.C. § 6501-6506 (16 CFR Part 312), and additional applicable state privacy laws and regulations as seen fit.
PERSONAL DATA
The Personal Data that may be processed belong to the following categories:
- Identification Data: Full name, date of birth, gender, signature.
- Contact Data: Address, email address, landline and/or mobile phone, state, municipality.
- Academic Data: Educational level, educational institution, languages.
- Employment Data: Profession or occupation.
- Personal Interests: Academic, personal, and professional interests.
- Identification and contact data of third parties, namely, data of parents, legal guardians, or legal representatives, when Participants are minors.
The Foundation may request the submission of copies of documents containing all or some of the aforementioned Personal Data.
Consent and Modification. You are not legally obligated to provide us Personal Information, and you hereby confirm that providing us Personal Information is at your own free will. By using the Site, you consent to the terms of this Privacy Policy and to our collection, processing and sharing of Personal Information for the purposes set forth herein. If you do not agree to this Privacy Policy, please do not access or otherwise use the Site. We reserve the right, at our discretion, to change this Privacy Policy at any time. Such change will be effective ten (10) days following posting of the revised Privacy Policy on the Site, and your continued use of the Site thereafter means that you accept those changes.
Our California Do Not Track Notice. We do not currently respond or take any action with respect to web browser “do not track” signals or other
mechanisms that provide consumers the ability to exercise choice regarding the collection of personally identifiable information about an individual consumer’s online activities over time and across third-party web
sites or online services. We may allow third parties, such as companies that provide us with analytics tools, to collect personally identifiable information about an individual consumer’s online activities over time and across different web sites when a consumer uses the Site.
Deletion of Content from California Residents. If you are a California resident under the age of 18 and a registered user, California Business and Professions Code Section 22581 permits you to remove content or Personal Information you have publicly posted. If you wish to remove such content or Personal Information and you specify which content or Personal Information you wish to be removed, we will do so in accordance with applicable law. Please be aware that after removal you will not be able to restore removed content. In addition, such removal does not ensure complete or comprehensive removal of the content or Personal Information you have posted and that there may be circumstances in which the law does not require us to enable removal of content.
PURPOSES OF PROCESSING
The Foundation may request and/or collect Personal Data from Participants through the Site for the following purposes, as well as to comply with legal requirements, or when requested by competent authorities (hereinafter the "Processing"). The Foundation and/or any authorized third party involved in any phase of the Processing of Personal Data will maintain confidentiality, following applicable legal provisions in the United States of America (hereinafter "USA").
The Personal Data that Participants provide upon their registration on the Site are intended for: (i) registration, identification, contact, and profiling of Participants in the Technolochicas program; (ii) promoting equality in STEM careers; (iii) enabling Participants to access the subscribed content, classes, presentations, and course materials, as well as to receive feedback on activities performed and certificates of participation; (iv) generating databases to be used for informational, analytical, and promotional purposes regarding Foundation's programs, our sponsors, and partners; (v) sending invitations to events, activities, and calls from Foundation, our sponsors, and partners; (vi) analyzing Personal Data to understand the context and needs of the target population; (vii) identifying Participants to deliver program benefits; (viii) gaining a clearer understanding of the economic, academic, and extracurricular situation of Participants to determine eligibility for benefits or scholarships and conduct statistical analysis; (ix) sending and conducting surveys; (x) measuring, on our own or through third parties, participation in the offered programs, their quality, and areas of improvement; (xi) sending the monthly Technolochicas newsletter to keep Participants updated on relevant STEM ecosystem topics; (xii) with their authorization, conducting interviews with Participants regarding their participation in Technolochicas and disseminating such interviews through various media; (xiii) with their consent, we may upload photos taken at our events and courses to our social media platforms.
Foundation may use Personal Data for other purposes, provided such are compatible and analogous to those mentioned above.
PRIVACY AND CONSENT
For adults, registration through the Site implies consent to the Processing of Personal Data under this Privacy Notice. The data subject declares that they are of legal age on the date they provide their Personal Data and have total legal capacity.
Personal Data will not be collected from minors or individuals under legal interdiction or incapacity established by law without the prior consent of the person exercising parental authority, or, as the case may be, the legal guardian, following the rules of representation applicable in each case and under the following section.
PRIVACY AND CONSENT FOR MINORS
"Minors" are considered to be all individuals under 18 years of age or individuals under legal interdiction, and "parents" are understood to be guardians, legal representatives, or individuals exercising parental authority over them per FERPA and COPPA.
In the case of Processing the Personal Data of minors, the following rules apply:
- Before processing the personal data of minors, express consent from the parents will be requested so that they are informed of the minor's intention to register on the Site and to grant or deny consent regarding the Processing of the minor's Personal Data.
- If parents deny consent, the Personal Data of the minor will not be processed.
Parents may exercise the rights of access, rectification, cancellation, and opposition to the Processing of Personal Data of minors following the provisions of the corresponding section and the applicable laws.
TRANSFER OF PERSONAL DATA
With Participants' authorization, the Foundation may transfer Personal Data collected on the Site to third parties to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Notice.
MEANS TO EXERCISE THE RIGHTS OF DATA SUBJECTS AND REVOCATION OF CONSENT
Participants may request the exercise of their rights to:
- Access their Personal Data;
- Rectify their Personal Data when they are inaccurate or incomplete;
- Cancel their Personal Data when they are no longer necessary for the purposes for which they were collected;
- Object for legitimate reasons to the Processing of their Personal Data, and/or
- Revoke their consent for the Processing of their Personal Data at any time, so that their Personal Data is no longer used.
However, it is essential to note that in all cases, we may not be able to fulfill your request to cancel your Personal Data, object to the Processing, or revoke your consent, as we may have a legal obligation to continue processing your Personal Data.
The exercise of the rights of access, rectification, cancellation, or opposition to Personal Data and the revocation of consent must be requested from the Foundation via the email address technolochicasus@gmail.com or at the address mentioned at the beginning of this document, and must include at least the following:
- The name of the data subject, address, and email address to communicate the response to the request;
- Documents verifying the identity or, as the case may be, the legal representation of the data subject;
- A clear and precise description of the Personal Data for which one of the aforementioned rights is being exercised (in the case of rectification, the modifications to be made and the supporting documentation for the request should be indicated);
- Any other element or document that facilitates the location of the Personal Data.
The Foundation will respond to the request of Participants under the deadlines and conditions established in the relevant state and federal laws, through the email address technolochicasus@gmail.com
If the User wishes to stop receiving promotional messages from the Foundation, they may request it via technolochicasus@gmail.com
The exercise of the aforementioned rights by Users must comply with the current laws and regulations in the United States of America.
DISCLAIMER
The Site may contain hyperlinks or hypertext links, banners, pages, promotions, microsites, virtual stores, surveys, job listings, and other services, as well as buttons and/or search tools on the World Wide Web that lead to third-party websites. Personal Data that users provide through such third-party websites are not covered by this Privacy Notice, and their Processing is not the responsibility of the Foundation. We recommend that users check the Privacy Notices displayed and applicable to these websites.
The foundation informs users and Participants that some services on the Site may include discussion forums, classified ads, and chat rooms, among others, and the Personal Data revealed through these means may, in some cases, be accessible to third parties. The Foundation will not be responsible for the use, publication, disclosure, and/or dissemination of Personal Data through these means. We recommend that users and Participants be cautious and responsible with all personal information they provide online.
COOKIES AND WEB BEACONS
To enhance the user experience on the Site, the Foundation may use "cookies." For this Privacy Notice, "cookies" are identified as text information files that a website transfers to the hard drives of users' computers to store certain records and preferences. The Foundation may use "cookies" to gain a better understanding of user interaction with the Site and the services provided. The Site may allow third-party advertising or functions to send "cookies" to users' computers. Using "cookies" does not personally identify users, only their computers.
On the other hand, "web beacons" are images embedded in a web page or email that can be used to monitor a visitor's behavior, such as storing information about the user's IP address, browsing time, duration of interaction on the Site, sections consulted, previously accessed web pages, and the type of browser used.
Users can change their preferences on their computer equipment and/or browsers to stop accepting "cookies" and/or "web beacons," or to confirm whether they accept them.
CHANGES TO THE PRIVACY NOTICE
The Foundation reserves the right to modify the content of this Privacy Notice at any time. Any changes to the Privacy Notice will be communicated through the Site and/or the contact methods available to Participants.
